Description
Zarbus is a Planet in the Astyr-System within the Pradian Stream. It is the 7th celestial body within the system. It is classified as Off-World.
A cold and aerid desert world devoid of any vegetation Zarbus is inhabited by a nonsentient species of insects which feed on the mineral-rich soil. Organized in hives they spread along the mineral veins and gradually perforate the rocky soil. Not seldomly patches of ground will implode, as the debilated soil can no longer support its weight and crumbles. As a result Zarbus' surface is layerd with countless of these sinkholes the largest of them several hundred meters deep and spreading over several kilometers.
Despite its wealth of minerals Zarbus is not overly popular among mining companies, as its instable surface has greatly impaired the installation of mining facilities and efforts to root out or relocate the native insectoid population have so far proven futile.
