A note on Nebulae
I'm in the process of restructuring the Locations Section. Something that bugged me for a while was the handling of nebulae. Until now I treated most of them as localized areas - clouds or pockets of gass within a star system - the way they were portrayed in various video games which I used to play in the past, like Freelancer and others. However, eventually I realized this is not how nebulae work. Most of the time it's the other way round - nebulae are gargantuan bodies with many MANY star systems within them.
So while I'm in the process of turning everything upside down and inside out anyway, I'm fixing this as well. There will still be some localized phenomena, localized pockets of gass, where the story requires them to be, but for the rest, I'm reorganizing them into sectors containing several star systems (yeah I'm taking inspiration from Mass Effect here, sue me!)
System Maps
Also, I am redesigning the star systems in a similar way. As such, Planets, asteroid clusters etc. will have a set place within a system's map, i.e. the order in which they are positioned circling their primary star. My plan here is also to create a visual map for each star system, depicting its celestial bodies and their order.
