Description
Haerolon is a Planet in the Cophura-System within the Phoenix Tail. It is the 5th celestial body within the system. It is classified as Tertiary World.
While this large gas giant is, by itself, of little worth, its advantageous location at the edge of the system made the planet's close vicinity an attractive node and waystation for intersystem trading.

The colonies and trade outposts orbiting Haerolon are operated, governed and policed by various larger corporations, both native to the system as well as offshore branches from other Systems.
History
With trading posts growing around Haerolon, the trade routes leading there drew the attention of a notorious band of Riquanee pirates, operating from the nearby Barjin Cluster. With attacks growing and more frequent over time, Cophuranee sector patrols were soon overburdened and unable to secure the sector and numerous requests for assistance were issued to the homeworld. It still took several years until a more resolute course of action was approved by the Cophuranee senate. Supplied with extensive naval forces, a task group was formed to systematically root out the Pirate and secure the sector once and for all.
In the years after cleanup campaign, colonists and large trade companies settled in the Haerolons outer orbit, bringing with them their own corporate security forces, and have turned the Sector into economic nexus and a central link through the entire United Planets and beyond.
