Tarlon Cervis
Description
Born in 2475 on Bricera, Tarlon Cervis pursued a distinguished military career in the Briceran Royal Navy, where he rapidly gained prominence for his tactical acumen, decisiveness, and personal integrity. His rise brought him into close contact with Crown Prince Jarris Vaylon, earning the prince’s trust and eventually placing Cervis at the center of Bricera’s most consequential political and military transformations. Ascending steadily through the ranks, Cervis was ultimately appointed Supreme Commander of the Briceran Royal Navy, and later became one of the founding members of the UPMF Supreme Circle.
Early Life
Tarlon was born in Tryclon City on Bricera as second son of a merchant. With an fondness for space travel he joined the Briceran fleet academy and, graduating with 19 and gaining a position as second navigator on a small patroll ship at the age of 20. A few years later he was promoted captain and is given his first command over a ship. Ascending in rank and reputation he eventually gained the attention of young Briceran crown prince Jarris Vaylon, who, like himself was an outspoken critic of acting Overlord Sorrin's policy of appeasement and passivity towards the rivalling Khisar clan. Sharing their concerns the two secretly gathered further supporters and began making preparations for an open conflict, which they both believed to be inevitable.
Rise to Prominence
As Cervis’ reputation grew, so did his influence within the fleet. His outspoken opposition to Overlord Sorrin’s policy of appeasement toward the rival Khisar clan drew him into alignment with Crown Prince Jarris Vaylon, who shared similar concerns about Bricera’s strategic stagnation.
Operating discreetly, Cervis and the prince cultivated a network of officers and political allies who believed open conflict to be inevitable. Together, they began preparing for a future confrontation long before it became public policy.
The Hedrecian Feud
Near the end of the Hedrecian Feud, Cervis commanded a small patrol flotilla stationed along the border of Torlacian territory. During this deployment, his forces received an urgent distress call from the Briceran Overlord’s royal cruiser, which had been intercepted and severely damaged by Torlacian assassins.
Arriving just in time, Cervis coordinated a decisive counterattack that repelled the attackers and secured the Overlord’s evacuation. This action earned him widespread acclaim and the personal gratitude of Overlord Sorrin himself.
As a result, Tarlon Cervis was promoted to Commodore at the age of 30, becoming the youngest flag officer in Briceran history.
Supreme Command
In the years that followed, Cervis assumed increasing responsibility within the Briceran naval hierarchy. Upon the formation of the United Planets Alliance, he, having since ascended to Admiral, was elevated to the newly established rank of UPMF Supreme Commander and as such joined the UPMF Supreme Circle alongside his Cophuranee and Sinicyan counterparts, Ray Firkis and Alyn Yadrec
During his tenure, Cervis developed a close and personal relationship with Alyn Yadrec, one that evolved beyond professional collaboration into a profound emotional bond.
Death
Cervis’ remarkable career came to an abrupt end during the Battle for Bricera. In an attempt to prevent the kidnapping of Lady Shiromy Vaylon by Khetarian Separatists, he was killed in action.
His death sent shockwaves through the UPMF command structure. For Alyn Yadrec in particular, the loss proved devastating, fueling a drive for retribution that would profoundly shape her future path.
